MENTAL HEALTH HUB

KidsInARow.jpg

Welcome to the Type1 Club.

I always say to families when diagnosed: The TYPE1 Club is a group that no one really wants to be a part of. Let’s be honest, I wouldn’t wish a Type 1 diagnosis on anyone, let alone a small child. But, with that said, the TYPE1 Club was dreamt up to be a safe and secure place to come to. When you join the TYPE1 Club, your journey through life with Type 1 will hopefully become a positive and understood one. - Ange Liston-McCaughley CEO

It’s the mission of the TYPE1 club to create a community where individuals and families feel connected right from diagnosis. Our goal is to eliminate isolation within our community by connecting families through a wide range on platforms. We wish to raise awareness about the importance of mental health when living with a chronic disease. And most importantly, we want to educate individuals and families living with Type 1.

The TYPE1 Club aims to show you how you can live a long and happy life with a chronic illness. We will share real life stories, host cooking classes, give nutrition advice and more! There are exercise classes that are simple and quick and designed for all levels of fitness. And the Mental Health Hub will give you access to a wide range of support services and events.

In The TYPE1 Club, we take the time to care and should be the first place you turn to for help, advice and information about living with Type1 Diabetes.

The Type1 Foundation has been supporting people living with diabetes since 2015. We offer our community of hundreds of members and their families, friends and carers an extra level of support through reliable information and helpful programs designed to make it easier to manage your Type 1 Diabetes.

As part of our community you have access to:

Support & Guidance for Type 1 Families

There are no questions too small. The more you ask the more you know in the world of Type 1. Join us for our in-person and online events in a range of venues across Australia to connect with others - your Type 1 Club Membership gives you discounted and early access tickets to most events. You can also access a tonne of educational videos through the Type 1 Club Online Database on topics like Nutrition, Insulin Dosing and more!

Our Type1 Club members receive free admission to family support events designed to help you manage your Type 1 and connect you with others in our Type 1 community. With more than 20 across VIC and NSW and more planned for other states, you are sure to find an event that’s right for you and your family. The type of events you will have access to include, Type1 Mum’s Dinners, Family Fun Events at Theme Parks and amusement centres (places are limited).
