A Parent Workshop for Families Living with Type 1 Diabetes

Type 1 Diabetes is more than blood glucose levels and carb counting.

It is the emotional load, the interrupted sleep, the constant vigilance, and the worry that sits quietly in the background.

This workshop is a practical, supportive space for parents and carers who want to feel more confident supporting their child’s emotional wellbeing alongside diabetes management.

This Workshop Will Help You

✔ Understand how Type 1 Diabetes impacts your child’s behaviour and emotions

✔ Recognise signs of diabetes-related stress and anxiety early

✔ Support your child through fear of hypos, burnout, school stress, or overwhelm

✔ Respond calmly to resistance, frustration, or shutdown around diabetes tasks

✔ Understand body signals linked to blood glucose changes and emotional shifts

✔ Know which strategies are helpful during highs, lows, and in-between moments

✔ Strengthen connection and confidence for both you and your child

You’ll receive a practical workbook and clear, simple tools you can use straight away.

This is not about being a perfect parent.

It is about feeling steady, informed, and supported.

We understand the unseen challenges of parenting a child with Type 1 Diabetes.

You will leave feeling more confident in understanding your child and better equipped to support their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
