Raised in the small town of Mudgee in central New South Wales, I was diagnosed type 1 diabetic at the age of 15 in 2019. It was a challenging time for my family as we had no prior knowledge of diabetes in the family. Being an already shy and awkward kid, I struggled to tell anyone how much diabetes affected me. At the age of 18 I decided to move to Wollongong. I took up running with my roommate to kill a bit of time and it quickly took over my life. Stuck in a rut and not knowing where my life was going I decided I needed to make a change and try help kids like myself.

I started my account @typerun_ in the September of 2024 with the goal to spread awareness and raise money for type 1 diabetes. In the November I ran 6 marathons in 5 days and raised near $10000 for my charities. I was quite underprepared for the challenge and it took a toll on my body. After a few months off I decided to jump back into it. April of this year I ran 100km and in the same day bench pressed 100kg.  Having better prepared my body this time round I’m keen to go headfirst into a new challenge I’m currently planning. I’m very excited to have partnered with the type one foundation to raise much needed money for a charity I love.
